The Journey of a Remarkable Woman
Born on February 28, 1967, in Bafang, Haut-Nkam, Western Cameroon, Françoise Puene emerged from humble beginnings in a polygamous family of 15 children. Her father, a catechist, municipal driver, and bar owner, and her mother, a member of the royal family of Fondjomekwet and farmer, instilled in her the values of hard work and perseverance.
Known for her distinctive style - tall, slim, with short hair, often wearing a dark jacket, shirt, and tie - Françoise earned the nickname "Mamy Nyanga" (elegant lady). This unique appearance became her trademark in a male-dominated business world.
Won the nursing competition in Bafoussam and was recruited at Ad Lucem Hospital in Banka
Began selling beignets and beans, then expanded to textile trade between Cotonou, Lagos, and Cameroon
Founded Groupe Franco & CIE S.A, venturing into real estate and hospitality
Spent 13 months in Douala Central Prison, inspiring her to create prisoner support associations
Elected to the Cameroon Senate representing the West Region
